Burukpili Skin Revival Balm

Made with Burukpili, a plant long valued for its natural skin-nourishing properties, this balm is crafted using a botanical that grows wild on Yolŋu Country in the remote landscapes of North East Arnhem Land, Australia.

Burukpili is the traditional Yolŋu name for the plant, also known as Noni, Indian Mulberry, or by its botanical name, Morinda citrifolia. For generations, Yolŋu people have harvested and used Burukpili as part of their traditional healing practices, drawing on cultural knowledge passed down through Elders.

Rich in naturally occurring antioxidants and bioactive plant compounds, Burukpili helps soothe, hydrate, and protect the skin while supporting its natural barrier and renewal processes. Traditionally valued and scientifically recognised for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties, this balm leaves skin feeling soft, nourished, and revitalised.

To honour the potential of this plant, very few ingredients have been added to our balm to ensure the properties of this plant remain as pure as possible.

Our simple ingredients include:

• Infused Organic Coconut Oil with wild-harvested Burukpili (Morinda Citrofolia) leaves
• Australian raw beeswax
• Lemon Myrtle essential oil

All oils used in our products have been infused with meticulous care.

• No synthetic preservatives

• No parabens
• No synthetic fragrances
• No animal testing

With the wisdom and knowledge of this plant being passed down through generations in traditional cultural customs, we are very honoured and fortunate to be able to share this balm and plant with you. 

The botanical used in this balm is wild-harvested by hand on Yol

ŋu Country using traditional methods and 50% of net profits support Yol

ŋu Elder, advisor and wisdom keeper, Ms Djapirri Mununggirritj who is dedicated to ensuring the ancient traditions are kept alive with her younger generations. 

The Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) of the native botanical used in this balm remains with Djapirri, not Gimiyala.

Each year Gimiyala also supports the wider local Yol

ŋu community with educational sessions (taught by Djapirri) and balm donations to Elders, patients in hospital, local schools, community centres, age care centres and more.
