Donate a balm to Yolŋu

Help us minimise skin infections across Arnhem Land.

One of the common issues we see frequently in Yolŋu communities in remote North East Arnhem Land is how a simple scratch or an itchy insect bite can become badly infected if left untreated or unclean. 

Each year Gimiyala supports the wider local Yolŋu community with balm donations to Elders, patients in hospital, local schools, community centres, age care centres and more. By sharing these balms with the community it is wonderful to see a sense of pride from Yolngu that their much loved and trusted "bush miditjin" is now in an easily accessible beautifully smelling balm and a product they want to use.

We receive calls from all over Arnhem Land for some “magic Yolŋu miditjin” as they are often called and they are packed on planes to be sent to remote islands and homelands. 

As the word has got out about how pleasant on the skin and effective they are at helping the skin heal, we see an increased demand for our balms especially during the rise in heat, moisture and biting insects.
